Turning Wine Bottles Into Planters (No Special Tools Needed)

An empty wine bottle laid on its side makes a simple self-watering herb planter: cut an opening in the upper side, fill with soil, and the curved base holds a small water reservoir. A tile saw or bottle-cutting kit makes the cleanest cut, but a glass cutter and hot/cold water method works too.
